Discovery Garden

Sensory & Mobility Discovery Garden

UPDATE:

The Mighty Kids Discovery Garden at Mighty Oaks Children’s

Therapy Center is under construction!  Thanks to the terrific partnership

with Matthew Conser of The Conser Group, we have completed Phase I of our garden plan.

Mr. Conser has volunteered his time and expertise as Project Manager,

and we appreciate his support of this exciting endeavor!

We would like to give special thanks to our friends at Comcast

and Hewlett-Packard, who kicked off this project with installation of our

irrigation system and fencing the area, as well as to Mr. Conser,

K& D Engineering, and David Dodson, who have been instrumental in

performing survey and design work to finalize our plans for the garden.

We are excited with the plans to include a variety of sensory and movement

opportunities which will maximize the opportunities for therapy that we offer to

children with special needs at Mighty Oaks, and would like to thank James Jordan

for his financial contribution to the project.

On September 14th, 2007, as part of the United Way Day of Caring,

volunteers from Hewlett Packard helped clear the garden, spread bark in our flowerbeds,

and built planter boxes to allow children of all sizes to access the planting beds in the garden.

Thanks to their hard work, Phase II of our plan is ready to begin!

We are thrilled that the following individuals and businesses have committed their

support to help this dream come to fruition:
